'Opening Light' - Performance by JACK Quartet at Kaufman Music center

Feb 24, 2020, New York, NY

Join us for an evening of performances by the JACK Quartet and Kaufman Music Center's own students.

Hailed by The New York Times as the "nation's most important quartet", the JACK Quartet is one of today's most celebrated ensembles. The quartet has received numerous accolades, including: Musical America's 2018 "Ensemble of the Year", WQXR's "19 for 19 Artists to Watch", and a 2019 Avery Fisher Career Grant. JACK has maintained an unwavering commitment to performing and commissioning new works, giving voice to underheard composers, and cultivating an ever-greater sense of openness toward contemporary classical music. Kaufman Music Center is thrilled to have the members of JACK Quartet as Artists-in-Residence during the 2019-20 year, performing in Merkin Hall and mentoring our students in educational programs.
